Several areas in Nunavut set new temperature records

It's been very warm in various locations in central and northern Nunavut.


Several areas set new high temperature records.


On Thursday, three locations set new records. Grise Fiord reached a temperature of 11.4, beating the old record of 9.7 set in 2019.


Pond Inlet set a new record of 15.4, the old record of 14.4 was set in 1939. Sanirajak reached a record of 15.9; the record of 15.0 was set in 1973.


On Wednesday, Sanirajak beat another daily record, reaching 14.5, the old record of 13.9 was set in 1973.


Igloolik reached 13.8 on Tuesday, beating the old record of 11.5 set in 2013.
