Several tornadoes over the weekend in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

Several tornadoes were reported in Manitoba and Saskatchewan over the weekend.
On Sunday several severe thunderstorms impacted Manitoba bringing heavy rain, large hail, and tornadoes.
At approximately 6:30 pm CDT on August 30th, a tornado was observed in Elkhorn, MB. Environment and Climate Change Canada received a report of the tornado through the RCMP and multiple reports of the tornado through social media.
At approximately 4 pm CST on August 30th, a tornado was observed 5 km south of Maryfield. Environment and Climate Change Canada received several reports of the tornado through social media.
On the afternoon of August 30th, Environment and Climate Change Canada received a report from the RCMP of a tornado near Kelso, SK. Currently, there is insufficient evidence to confirm that a tornado occurred. However, ECCC is collaborating with the Northern Tornadoes Project as they investigate further. Once a preliminary assessment has been completed, we will provide more information.
