There is a risk of thunderstorms today across most of the Maritimes this afternoon, with the most significant potential focused over New Brunswick.

Southern and western New Brunswick have the greatest thunderstorm threat. Storms may produce 70 to 90 km/h wind gusts, 1 to 2 cm hail and 20 to 40 mm of rain. There is also the possibility of tornadoes.

Northern and eastern New Brunswick is at a somewhat lower threat, with wind gusts around 70 km/h, hail up to 1 cm and 15 to 25 mm of rain.
