Writer: Kyle Sooley-BrookingsKyle Sooley-Brookings

Nine people have died from the severe storms that ripped across the southeastern United States.

Thunderstorms brought tornadoes, strong winds and heavy rain that battered the region.

Due to the storm, power was cut to thousands of people and several roads became impassable.

Many rivers are now near the flood stage.

There were also countless flight delays.
