Severe thunderstorms expected across U.S. southeast

A warm front moving across the U.S. southeast will be the catalyst for severe thunderstorms today.

Severe storms are possible from central Mississippi southwestward into southeastern Louisiana.

These storms will move northeastward across the central Gulf coast states during the morning into early this afternoon.

The threats include tornadoes, strong wind and isolated large hail.

Further north across the Ohio and Tennessee Valley there is a risk of severe storms. Some of these storms could produce strong winds and large hail.
