Severe weather possible this afternoon across Southern Ontario

A cold front will sweep across Southern Ontario today bringing not only cooler temperatures but also strong winds and the risk of thunderstorms.


Southern Ontario will see wind gusts from 70 to 90 km/h this afternoon as the cold front moves through.


There is also the risk of thunderstorms across Southern Ontario. Some storms could reach severe limits with strong winds, heavy rain, and possibly hail.


Gusty winds are also expected across parts of far northern Ontario and northern Ontario north and east of Lake Superior. In these areas, winds will gust to 80 km/h this afternoon and evening.
