Significant snow expected across parts of Ontario on Monday

Significant amounts of snow are expected across parts of southern and central Ontario on Monday.

On Monday areas east of Lake Huron as well as east and southeast of Georgian Bay will see snow squalls. On Monday afternoon snow squalls will intensify and could produce snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm locally over Grey–Bruce, extending east towards Barrie.

Areas surrounding that could see 15 to 25 cm of snow. Blowing snow is also likely with gusty winds expected during the day which will significantly reduce visibility.

Areas southeast of Lake Superior will also experience Lake effect snow on Monday.

Amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected except for areas from Sault Ste. Marie to Montreal River where higher amounts near 20 cm are possible along with blowing snow over exposed areas.
