Snow and Freezing Rain Expected in Southern Ontario #ONstorm #ONwx

A large area of low pressure will approach Southern Ontario from the south on Wednesday and Thursday.

This low has the potential to bring some snow and some freezing rain to the region beginning on Wednesday evening.

Precipitation will likely commence in the form of some snow in extreme southern Ontario, near Lake Erie. From there the snow is expected to transition to freezing rain. Several hours of freezing rain is expected.

The freezing rain is likely to continue into Tuesday. Some ice accretion is possible and roads will be slippery on the Thursday morning commute.

At the same time, snow is expected to develop north of the freezing rain area. 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected. This snow will also make for a messy commute not only in the morning but it will linger throughout the day.

We are continuing to monitor this situation and will provide updates as necessary, keep checking back. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more on this developing situation.
