Snow and ice pellets expected across the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas

An area of low pressure will pass just east of the Avalon Peninsula on Friday night.

The system will spread ice pellets and snow over the Avalon and Burin Peninsula. There is a risk of freezing rain over some areas.

Snow and ice pellet accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are possible. Over higher terrain, higher amounts are possible.

Snow will also fall across central and the west coast, although lesser amounts are expected.
