Snow and strong winds expected for parts of Atlantic Canada


An area of low pressure over the eastern United States will bring snow and strong winds to portions of Atlantic Canada tonight and continue into Friday morning.


Most of New New Brunswick will see rain or snow this evening. Any rain will change to snow and end on Friday with 10 to 20 cm of snow.


Central and western Prince Edward Island will see rain tonight, the rain will change to snow and then back to rain early Friday morning. Snowfall near 10 cm is expected.


In Nova Scotia, Cumberland County, Inverness County - Mabou and north and Victoria County will see 5 to 10 cm of snow late tonight until early Friday morning. Precipitation will begin as rain but will transition to snow and then back to rain. Winds will gust to 110 km/h in the Inverness County - Mabou and north area.


Across western Newfoundland, wind gusts to 100 km/h are expected, except 120 km/h in the Wreckhouse area.
