Snow and wind to impact the Avalon Peninsula

There is currently rain falling over the Avalon Peninsula. The rain will change to snow this afternoon and there is a snowfall warning in effect for St. John's and the Northern Avalon. When the rain changes to snow this afternoon 10 to 15 cm except 20 cm over high terrain is possible. The snow will end this evening.

On the southern Avalon and Bonavista Peninsula winds will gust to 100 km/h. For Burgeo - Ramea winds will gust to 110 km/h.

There's also freezing drizzle this morning on the northeast coast of Newfoundland.
