It may only be the first week of November but some areas are seeing some significant snowfall across Atlantic Canada.

It is snowing in eastern New Brunswick. The snow is expected to taper off this evening. Amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected.

Along the western half of Nova Scotia, wintery weather moves through tonight. The rain falling today will transition to snow overnight. 5 to 10 cm is possible. Amounts may be slightly higher over higher terrain.

For portions of the west and south coast of Newfoundland, along with central Newfoundland may see up to 25 cm over higher terrain. In the Burgeo - Ramea area it will be snow and rain. Rainfall amounts of 45 to 65 mm are possible today.

We have recorded 8 cm so far in Corner Brook and the snow is very fluffy.

For most of us, this is the first significant snowfall of the season. Please exercise winter driving safety and slow down.
