Snow expected across eastern Newfoundland

Snow has started on the southern Avalon Peninsula as an area of low pressure moves well to the southeast of Newfoundland today.

Snow is expected for the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, Clarenville, and the Bonavista Peninsula.

Snowfall amounts will vary widely across the area with amounts ranging from 2 to 15 centimetres.

Winds will gust from 60 to 70 km/h making for blowing snow and reduced visibility.

By early this evening the snow will come to an end.
