Snow expected across Maritime provinces

Snow will push across the Maritime provinces today and tonight but snow will linger across Cape Breton Island resulting in significant amounts.

Snowfall amounts across all three Maritime provinces will range from about 3 to 10 cm.

On Cape Breton Island, up to 20 cm of snow is expected from tonight to Friday morning. Most areas will see about 10 centimetres but eastern sections of Cape Breton Island will see the most snow.

There is a snowfall warning in effect for:

• Inverness County - Mabou and north

• Inverness County - south of Mabou

• Richmond County

• Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County

• Victoria County

Some coastal areas could see some wind gusts to 70 km/h resulting in blowing snow.
