Snow expected in Banff & Canmore area


An area of low pressure located over southeastern British Columbia will bring heavy snow to parts of southwestern Alberta.


There are snowfall warnings in effect for Banff National Park and Kananaskis to Canmore.


Snow will begin today and continue tonight and through Friday. Snowfall amounts will range from 10 cm to as much as 30 cm.


Additionally strong winds are expected to develop along the southern Foothills this afternoon with gusts between 70 and 90 km/h possible.
