Snow Totals From Snow Squalls in Ontario

Snow squalls developed east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay on Friday and Saturday thanks to an area of low pressure.

Some snow squalls remained over the same location for long periods of time. As a result, some areas received significant snowfall.

One location of note was Wasaga Beach. Exact amounts in the Wasaga Beach area are a bit uncertain but there are several unconfirmed reports of over 50 cm of total snowfall accumulation.

The following is a summary of snowfall amounts in centimetres received by the Ontario Storm Prediction Centre from volunteer weather sources such as CoCoRaHS as of 10:00 AM Sunday:

  • Brussels 38 cm

  • Phelpston 32.5 cm

  • Lucknow 27.9 cm

  • Rocklyn 25.1 cm

  • Flesherton 22.6 cm

  • Durham 21.6 cm

  • Barrie 19 cm

  • Chatsworth 17.6 cm
