Some snow and freezing rain as Christmas approaches

Good day folks,

We are expecting some snow and showers in the region as the week continues.

There are special weather statements for Thunder Bay, Sudbury and Ottawa.

Below are the possible conditions to be noted;

We are looking at above 0 temperatures in most of the region with Ottawa being the coldest, it is mostly sunny today with some light winds at 20km/h gusting to 40.


In the evening Kenora has a low of 0 with chances of drizzle and fog patches overnight, winds are south 40km/h gusting to 50. Thunder Bay and Sudbury have 40% chance of drizzle tonight with winds southeast 20km/h gusting to 40 and a low of 4. Sudbury has a few clouds with increasing cloudiness at night, winds are southeast 20km/h and the temperature low is -7 with a windchill of -10. London is clear with increasing cloudiness near midnight, winds are Southeast 20km/h gusting to 40 the lulling with al low of 2. Toronto is cloudy overnight with winds east 30km/h gusting to 50 and a low of 3. Lastly, Ottawa has a few clouds with winds 20km/h, winds are -9 with a windchill of -12 overnight.

A mix of rain and snow is expected in the region tomorrow as a low pressure system intensifies over the Lake Superior. There is a risk of freezing rain in the late morning and afternoon for Kenora, Sudbury, Ottawa, and Huntsville. There will be snow in Ottawa and Huntsville, and a mix of rain and snow in Huntsville as well.

Special weather statements issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada are in effect for Huntsville and Ottawa as we are looking at 20 - 40 mm of rainfall accumulation and winds of 70km/h gusting to 80km/h by Thursday afternoon.
