Storm halts transportation in Newfoundland and Labrador
Some roads are closed, several schools won't be opening today, there are customers without power, and flights and ferries are cancelled across Newfoundland and Labrador as a storm prepares to exit the region.
Behind the low, snow squalls are expected along the west and southwest coasts. 20 cm of snow is possible in snow squalls from this evening through Saturday night.
Wind warnings remain in effect across the eastern part of the Island. Maximum wind gusts between 80 and 130 km/h are expected before ending near noon.
Snowfall amounts between 15 and 30 cm are expected along coastal Labrador and as far west as the Churchill Valley.
