Storm to hit the Avalon Peninsula bringing snow and gusty winds
On Tuesday the Avalon Peninsula will be hammered by the first significant snowfall of the season.
An area of low pressure will pass southeast of the Avalon Peninsula on Tuesday and will spread snow across the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula through Clarenville and the Bonavista Peninsula.
The snow will begin on Tuesday morning and will taper off overnight.
Significant snowfall is expected on the Avalon Peninsula with amounts ranging from 10 cm to 35 cm. Gusty winds are also expected with gusts to 80 km/h possible which will cause reduced visibility and blowing snow.
On Tuesday there is the potential for travel disruptions and school closures.
