Stormy Conditions Across Newfoundland and Labrador #nlwx



There are still several weather alerts in effect across Newfoundland and Labrador.


There are wind warnings in effect for Avalon Peninsula North, Avalon Peninsula Southeast, Avalon Peninsula Southwest, Bonavista North, Bonavista Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, Connaigre, Gros Morne, and St. John's and vicinity.


The winds will diminish this morning.


Winter storm warnings are in effect for Cartwright to Black Tickle, Eagle River, Green Bay - White Bay, Hopedale and vicinity, Nain and vicinity, Norman Bay to Lodge Bay, Northern Peninsula East, Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay, Port Saunders and the Straits, Postville - Makkovik, Red Bay to L'Anse-au-Clair, Rigolet and vicinity.


Further snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm are expected combined with maximum wind gusts between 80 and 100 km/h. It will continue until Sunday.


There is a blowing snow advisory for Gros Morne and a snowfall warning for Upper Lake Melville.


Most roads are snow-covered. Mainland to Cape St. George is closed. Travel is not recommended from Plum Point to Flower's Cove, Flower's Cove to St. Anthony Airport, St. Anthony Airport to St. Anthony, Intersection Route 430 to Cook's Harbour, Intersection Route 430 to Cape Onion, Intersection Route 430 to L'anse aux Meadows, St. Anthony to Goose Cove East.


In Labrador parts of Route 510 is closed along with Route 513 and Route 514.


All Marine Atlantic Ferry crossings have been cancelled for today.
