Stormy day across southern and central Ontario

It will be a stormy day across southern and central Ontario with rain, snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and strong winds expected.

For areas of central Ontario from about Kincardine to North Bay, 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected today. There is a risk of freezing rain. Gusty winds will result in blowing snow.

Across southwestern and eastern Ontario rain is expected. Rainfall amounts will range from 10 to 20 mm for most areas. Heavier rain is expected for the Niagara and Kingston area, for these areas 30 to 40 mm of rain is possible. There is a risk of localized flooding and water ponding on roads is also possible.

There is a possibility that the rain could transition to freezing rain and ice pellets.

From there, the precipitation will change to snow with 10 to 25 cm expected by Friday morning.

Gusty winds will cause blowing snow which will reduce visibility.
