Stormy Day Expected Across Newfoundland #nlwx


It will be a stormy Christmas Eve across Newfoundland, heavy snow and occasional blowing snow is expected.


The snow has already started and is only expected to get worse as the day progresses.


At this time the heaviest snow is predicted over the Avalon Peninsula where up to 30 cm is possible.


Across eastern Newfoundland and portions of central 10 to 20 cm is expected.


The west coast will see about 10 to 15 cm.


On the Northern Peninsula, only trace amounts are expected.


The snow is expected to linger through the morning on Christmas Day over the Avalon Peninsula.


Ahead of the storm, all Provincial Government offices will be closed today.


There is the potential for a second round of snow commencing late in the day on Boxing Day.
