Stormy Thursday Expected for Newfoundland #nlwx

An area of low pressure will push through Newfoundland on Thursday and into Friday.


Central sections of Newfoundland may receive as much as 30 cm of snow Thursday and Thursday night.


Along coastal areas, precipitation will largely be rain.


The Avalon will get some rain with amounts of 25 mm possible.


The west coast will only receive some rain-showers or flurries.


Marine Atlantic is also not moving today.


In the Cabot Strait winds will gust to 30 knots (55 km/h) today and Thursday along with waves 3 to 5 metres late overnight.


As a result, the crossings scheduled for 11:45 pm tonight have been rescheduled to tomorrow morning at 11:45 am.
