Stormy weather continues across NL and Cape Breton


The storm may be winding down across Atlantic Canada but there are still some areas contending with severe weather.


Snow squalls are expected to develop across western Cape Breton Island today. Up to 15 cm of snow is possible combined with winds gusting to 70 km/h.


Snow squalls are also expected across southern Newfoundland and the Avalon Peninsula. Up to 5 cm of snow is possible and winds will gust between 70 and 80 km/h.


While winds are expected to drop below warning criteria this morning winds will remain gusty throughout the day.


Blizzard conditions continue on the west coast of Newfoundland with another 5 to 15 cm expected with winds gusting to 110 km/h.


In southeastern and coastal Labrador, blizzard warnings remain in place. In these areas, another 5 to10 cm of snow is expected and winds will gust between 110 and 130 km/h.
