Stormy Weather Continues in SE Labrador


Stormy weather continues along the coast of Labrador.


There are winter storm warnings and freezing rain warnings in effect.


Over higher elevations freezing rain is expected to continue until Friday. Lower elevations will see rain.


For areas under a winter storm warning, total snowfall amounts of 30 to 50 cm are expected combined with winds gusting to 70 km/h. Snow and blowing snow will continue along the mid-Labrador coast from Rigolet to Makkovik until Friday evening.


A few schools in Labrador are closed for at least the morning with a further announcement to follow at 11:00 am.


Travel is not recommended from Cartwright Junction to Port Hope Simpson, Intersection Route 514 to Pinsent's Arm, Port Hope Simpson to Lodge Bay, and Intersection Route 510 to St. Lewis.
