Stormy weather expected across Newfoundland

A low is bringing rain, freezing rain, and strong winds to parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Heavy rain is continuing across eastern areas and Cape Breton Island. The rain will come to an end later this afternoon or this evening. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 60 mm are possible.
Wind gusts over Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence of 100 km/h are expected this morning into this afternoon.
The same low will push across Newfoundland overnight and on Friday.
An extended period of freezing rain is expected for the interior and western sections of Newfoundland. This evening, snow or rain will change to freezing rain. Areas at higher elevations will receive more in the way of freezing rain. Power outages are possible.
On Friday morning temperatures will rise and freezing rain will change to rain before ending early in the morning across the west coast and central.
Today until Friday morning the south coast will receive heavy rain. 50 to 80 mm is possible for the Burgeo and Port aux Basques area.
This afternoon and evening winds will gust to 110 km/h in the Wreckhouse area.
Marine Atlantic has cancelled all crossings for today.
