Stormy Weekend Ahead for Atlantic Canada

A storm system is expected to impact Atlantic Canada this weekend.

This storm will deliver mostly rain to the Maritime provinces.

Rain will begin in the south late on Saturday morning, spreading to the remainder of the Maritime provinces by the afternoon.

Rain will continue through Sunday.

Amounts of 20 to 60 mm are expected across the region along with strong winds. Over northern New Brunswick, 5 to 15 cm of snow is expected. Freezing rain is also possible.

The south coast, central, and western Newfoundland will see snow before a very quick transition to rain on Sunday. There is a risk of freezing rain and ice pellets during the transition.

Labrador will see snow followed by ice pellets, freezing rain, and then rain.
