Stormy Weekend Ahead for Parts of Atlantic Canada

An area of low pressure will push across the Maritimes on Saturday and into southern and eastern Newfoundland on Sunday.

Snow will start across southern sections of the Maritimes on Saturday morning. The snow will change to rain over extreme southern and eastern Nova Scotia while the remainder of the Maritimes stays as snow.

The heaviest snow is expected along the Bay of Fundy where areas under a snowfall warning may see 15 to 20 of snow. Winds will also be an issue with gusts up to 80 km/h possible along parts of the coast.

From there the low will push across southern and eastern Newfoundland. Snow is expected for the south coast, parts of central (Gander and east) and the Avalon where up to 10 cm is expected. The remainder of Newfoundland will likely just see some flurries.
