Stormy weekend ahead for the Maritime provinces

It will be a stormy weekend across the Maritimes as a trough of low pressure interacts with approaching Post-Tropical Storm Philippe. Heavy rain and strong winds are expected.

Across most of New Brunswick and southern Nova Scotia, rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 mm are expected with 15 to 30 mm expected elsewhere.

There is the possibility of localized flooding.

Winds will pick up in intensity on Saturday night into Monday. Gusts between 70 and 90 km/h are expected. An odd coastal gust over 100 km/h is possible.

Some tree damage may occur and power outages are possible.

On Saturday night wave heights of 10 metres are expected off the coast of Nova Scotia.
