Strong storm expected in Atlantic Canada this weekend
A major low is expected to impact Atlantic Canada Friday night through Sunday.
For most of New Brunswick and western Prince Edward Island snow is expected. Nova Scotia and eastern Prince Edward Island will see rain changing to ice pellets and then snow. Eastern New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and western New Brunswick could see snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm. For eastern Nova Scotia from Halifax to Cape Breton 30 to 50 mm of rain is possible.
Across Newfoundland rain is expected on Saturday while Labrador will see snow. Rainfall amounts of 100 mm of rain is possible along the southwestern coast of Newfoundland. Rainfall amounts will range from 20 to 40 mm. Coastal and southeastern Labrador could see 20 to 40 cm of snow.
Strong winds are expected across the region.
