Strong storm system impacting eastern and southern Ontario



An area of low pressure will bring severe weather to northeastern and southern Ontario today.


This afternoon into Wednesday areas east and southeast of Whitefish Bay will see snow squalls. Amounts up to 20 cm are possible.


Snow is expected today across most of Northeastern Ontario with amounts of 10 to 15 cm expected.


Freezing rain is expected this morning and afternoon across parts of eastern and central Ontario. In some areas, snow will be mixed with rain.


Snow and blowing snow will occur east of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron later today into Wednesday. Snowfall amounts may be as much as 10 cm locally. Areas southeast of Lake Superior and Georgian Bay is expected to see snow squalls continue early Wednesday through Wednesday night with an additional 5 to 10 cm possible.
