Strong winds and mountain snow expected in Alberta Saturday

A developing low-pressure system is expected to bring strong winds to parts of Alberta on Saturday, with gusts reaching 90 km/h in the province’s southwest.
The system’s cold front is forecast to bring wind gusts of up to 80 km/h across much of central and southern Alberta Saturday afternoon. Stronger gusts of up to 90 km/h are possible in the extreme southwest as winds strengthen ahead of the front.
Snow is also expected at higher elevations in the mountain parks as temperatures drop behind the cold front. Up to 10 centimetres of snow is forecast along higher elevations of the Icefields Parkway on Saturday.
Saskatchewan
Conditions are expected to remain relatively quiet across the eastern Prairies, although western Saskatchewan could see gusty westerly winds on Saturday.
Wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h are possible Saturday afternoon. Wind warnings are not anticipated at this time.
