Super Typhoon Hagibis Heading Toward Japan

Super Typhoon Hagibis is heading toward Japan but now it is impacting Guam.


A typhoon warning remains in effect for Alamagan and Pagan Islands in the CNMI. Damaging winds of 60 to 80 km/h will continue through at least late this evening.


A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Agrihan Island. Tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 60 to 80 km/h, are expected through this evening.


Maximum sustained winds remain at 250 km/h. Hagibis is forecast to maintain this intensity through Wednesday then begin a gradual weakening trend.


By Saturday the storm is expected to hit southern Japan.
