System to bring messy mix of weather to Ontario on Monday and Tuesday


A strong area of low pressure is expected to push through Ontraio on Monday and Tuesday bringing snow to northern areas and a messy mix of weather to Southern Ontario.


Areas north of Lake Superior including Thunder Bay will see about 10 to 15 cm of snow on Monday.


Across southwestern Ontario, including London and Kitchener-Waterloo, freezing rain is expected on Monday afternoon and will continue into the evening. Freezing rain amounts of 5 to 10 mm is possible. Wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h are also possible.


Southern Ontario including the Golden Horseshoe to Niagara Falls will see snow to start. The snow will change to ice pellets or freezing rain. Winds will gust from 70 to 80 km/h.


On Tuesday central, eastern, and northeastern Ontario, including Ottawa, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie will see snow. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected. The heaviest snow will fall across eastern Ontario.
