System to graze southern Ontario bringing snow to the region

On Friday a low will pass southeast of southern Ontario bringing snow to the region.

Snow will begin in southwestern areas on Thursday night and reach the GTA by Friday morning and eastern Ontario around mid-morning.

Snowfall amounts across southern Ontario will range from 5 to 15 cm. The heaviest snow will fall across the north shores of Lake Erie towards the St. Lawrence Valley. In these areas, snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected.

From Windsor to Kitchener to Ottawa 5 to 10 cm is expected.

Along the western shores of Lake Ontario and the shores of Lake Erie wind gusts to 60 km/h are possible.

Snow will end in southwestern areas by the afternoon and will end in the east on Friday evening.

The snow will have an impact on the morning commute. Roads will be slippery and snow-covered.
