System to move through Southern Ontario

An area of low pressure will approach Southern Ontario today.

Across southwestern Ontario, rain is expected to begin around noon. Precipitation will move northward this afternoon and make it to most areas by this evening.

Portions of southern and eastern Ontario could see some freezing rain this afternoon and evening before precipitation changes over briefly to snow. A couple of centimetres of snow or ice pellets is expected.

Grey and Huron Counties through Barrie and Haliburton to Ottawa will see snow this afternoon and tonight. Most areas will receive 5 to 10 cm of snow with a few locally higher amounts possible.
