Temperature records set across Atlantic Canada

Several areas across Atlantic Canada set temperature records on Thursday.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, Churchill Falls recorded a daily high of 19.0 C, breaking the previous record of 16.9 C set in 2024. Records in the Churchill Falls area date back to 1968.

Hopedale also set a new daily high record, reaching 19.3 C. The previous record was 18.8 C, set in 2003. Records in the Hopedale area date back to 1942.

In New Brunswick, the Charlo area reached 24.0 C, narrowly surpassing the previous daily high record of 23.9 C set in 2004. Records there date back to 1966.

Meanwhile, Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, set a daily minimum temperature record. The temperature fell to 0.9 C, breaking the previous record of 1.0 C set in 1979. Records in the area date back to 1960.
