Thousands on the Avalon in the dark as storm knocks out power

As the storm rages on across the Avalon Peninsula there are thousands of customers without power.

As of 5:30 pm, there are outages in:

• Southside Road

• Sheffield Estates

• Richmond Hill

• Kilbride from Long Beach St to Parkridge Dr, Fahey St, Meadowland Manor, Foran St-Shaw St

• Bell Island

• Chamberlains

• Peacekeepers Way to Commodore Place

• Cupids - Station Rd Brigus
