Environment and Climate Change Canada confirmed three tornadoes touched down in southern Manitoba on Tuesday, while meteorologists continued to investigate another reported tornado near Dauphin.
A brief tornado was observed east of the community of Manitou at approximately 4:30 p.m. CDT.
The tornado was reported to Environment and Climate Change Canada through video posted on social media. No damage had been reported as of Tuesday night.
Later in the afternoon, at approximately 5:15 p.m., two additional brief tornadoes were observed south of Carman. The reports were also received through videos shared on social media.
No injuries or damage were reported in connection with the Carman-area tornadoes.
Meanwhile, meteorologists were investigating a separate report of a possible tornado about 10 kilometres southeast of Dauphin. Environment and Climate Change Canada said it had received reports of the event Tuesday afternoon but had not yet gathered enough evidence to confirm that a tornado occurred.
