Tornado causes damage in Alberta

There are reports of damage and injuries in Mountain View County in Alberta after a tornado tore through the area on Saturday afternoon.
There was a tornado warning in effect for Mountain View County near Olds and Didsbury and Mountain View County near Carstairs and Stirlingville.
Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that was producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall were also expected.
Between approximately 1:45 pm and 2:15 pm MDT, Environment and Climate Change Canada received many reports and photos of an ongoing tornado occurring between Didsbury and Carstairs.
Damage was reported to several homes, farm buildings, as well as power infrastructure in the area.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is sending a team to investigate in coordination with the Western University Northern Tornadoes Project.
Several severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect across Alberta.
