Tornado confirmed near Lomond, Alberta


Environment and Climate Change Canada has confirmed a tornado near Lomond, Alberta on June 11.


Environment and Climate Change Canada received multiple reports and photos and has stated that at approximately 7:00 p.m. MDT on June 11, a brief tornado was observed southeast of Lomond.


There have been no reports of damage at this time. This was considered a landspout tornado that was generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. It has been rated as an EF0.


Meteorologists are seeking pictures of the tornado and/or any damage it may have caused.
