Tropical cyclone likely to form today, another could form in a few days

There's a lot to watch in the Atlantic Ocean.

This morning an area of low pressure located roughly midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles has become better organized and is just shy of tropical cyclone status.

The National Hurricane Center says if current trends continue, advisories could be initiated on a tropical depression later today. The storm has a nearly 100 percent chance of forming.

That's not the only area to watch, there is a tropical wave with an area of showers and thunderstorms south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands could develop.

This feature could become a tropical depression within the next few days.
