Tropical Storm Hanna maintains strength over the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Hanna is maintaining its strength over the central Atlantic as it continues moving east-southeast, with no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

At 5 a.m. AST Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center located Hanna about 1,745 km east-northeast of Bermuda and 1,740 km west of the Azores.

Hanna has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h, with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 km from the centre.

The storm is moving east-southeast at 24 km/h. The National Hurricane Center expects that motion to continue for the next day or two before Hanna turns toward the east-northeast.

Some fluctuations in strength are possible over the next couple of days. Hanna is expected to transition into a post-tropical cyclone later this week.

The storm has a minimum central pressure of 1002 millibars.

There are currently no hazards affecting land.
