Tropical Wave Over Southern Mexico Worth Watching
The National Hurricane Canter is watching a broad area of low pressure that is associated with a tropical wave.
It is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over southern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and the southwest Gulf of Mexico.
Some development of this system is possible during the next couple of days while it moves generally northwestward and then northward over the western Gulf of Mexico. The system is then forecast to merge with a cold front over the weekend.
It only has about a 30 percent chance of forming into a tropical storm.
