A powerful earthquake has occurred off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia at 9:25 a.m. CHST. The earthquake had a magnitude of 8.0 and was at a depth of 74 kilometres.

Tsunami waves reaching more than 3 meters above the tide level are possible along some coasts of the northwestern Hawaiian Islands and Russia.
Tsunami waves reaching 1 to 3 meters above the tide level are possible along some coasts of Guam, Hawaii, Japan, Johnston Atoll, Midway Island, Northern Marinas and Palmyra Island.
Tsunami waves reaching 0.3 to 1 meters above the tide level are possible for some coasts of Chuuk, Kosrae, Marshall Islands, Palau, Philippines, Pohnpei, Wake Island, and Yap.
Tsunami waves are forecast to be less than 0.3 meters above the tide level for the coasts of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, and Taiwan.
