Two tornadoes kill 11 in China

Two tornadoes hit Hubei province in China on Monday evening, killing 11 people. One person remains missing.

There were reports of damage to buildings, and cars were flipped.

While tornadoes occur in China each year, they are relatively uncommon in Hubei Province. The deadly storms came as meteorologists also monitored Typhoon Bavi, which was forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds and possible flooding to parts of Taiwan and eastern China later this week.

The province of Hubei is landlocked in central China. Its capital city is Wuhan.
