Typhoon Phanfone Kills 20


Typhoon Phanfone has struck the Philippines killing at least 20 people and several people are missing.


Wind gusts of 190 km/h were recorded.


Several homes were destroyed and power lines were brought down causing power outages.


Thousands of travellers were left stranded when the storm struck on Tuesday and continued into Wednesday.


It could take weeks to fully restore power and until water is safe to drink.


Ahead of the storm, residents were told to leave coastal areas.
