What to expect in the May Night sky

From May 1 to 6, Mars will pass by the star cluster M44, located in the constellation Cancer.


On May 3, the Moon will meet Mars. Once again, on May 31, Mars will sit just above the Moon.


For most of May, Jupiter will position itself in the western sky at dusk.


Saturn returns to the right of Venus in the east on May 15.


On May 30, 1975, the European Space Agency was formed.

  • Full Moon: May 12

  • Last Quarter: May 20
