A winter storm continues to pound the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas along with Clarenville to Terra Nova.

Many locations on the Avalon Peninsula have seen over 20 cm of snow with 30+ cm still expected for some areas. The St. John's Metro area is expecting to see the most snow.

Snow will increase in intensity across the Avalon over the next few hours, winds will pick up too. This afternoon and early evening will be the worst of the storm.

Winter storm warnings remain in effect for the Avalon Peninsula North, Avalon Peninsula Southeast, Avalon Peninsula Southwest, the Bonavista Peninsula, Clarenville and vicinity, and St. John's and vicinity. There is a snowfall warning for the Burin Peninsula and a blowing snow advisory for Terra Nova.
