Winter storm to hit southern and eastern Ontario

A winter storm has its sights set on Southern and Eastern Ontario on Wednesday Night and Thursday.


The storm will deliver snow, freezing rain, rain, and strong winds to the region.


Southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe near Lake Erie will see snow mixed with ice pellets, freezing rain and rain.


Southwestern Ontario and north of Lake Ontario will see 5 to 15 cm of snow. The snow will change to ice pellets, freezing rain or rain.


The rest of southern Ontario along with portions of northeastern Ontario will see anywhere from 20 to 40 cm of snow and blowing snow. Snow squalls may develop in behind this system Thursday afternoon southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.


Portions of northeastern Ontario will pick up anywhere from 5 to 15 cm of snow and there will be blowing snow.
